I recently had an amazing opportunity through The Artisan Group to design and create a gift for inclusion in a gift bag being sent to a celebrity I truly admire. I am beyond excited about this!!! Due to endorsement contracts we can’t reveal her name but I think she will love my whales made from repurposed vintage materials, a perfect fit for her green lifestyle!
One of my favorite things is taking beautiful neglected items and turning them into treasures people can love, this was the perfect chance to do just that! With this woman and her girls’ fun style and love of bright colors in mind I went thrifting and found some absolutely fantastic 100% silk scarves that were ideal for this project to go along with a great pair of Levi’s that would make up the body of the whales. Working some crafty magic I transformed these raw materials into “Ballena & Mar” two lovable and personalized humpback whales that I hope the girls will love.
I hope that the whales make her and her family smile. In the meantime I have some silk left from the two beautiful scarves used for these whales and will use them for some Limited Edition whales in my shop! If you would like your own, hurry over to the shop before the silk is all gone!
